The Countryman Inn, Shipley, Take Away menu is now in full swing. The menu which is available everyday, both at lunchtime and in the evenings can be ordered by phoning 01403 741383. All orders will be prepared and be ready for collection at your requested time. Alternatively, just pop in and see us in our welcoming country pub near Horsham and enjoy a complimentary drink whilst you wait for your order to be cooked.

On Thursday 30th June, The Countryman Inn, Shipley, will be holding it’s monthly curry extravaganza - Zesty & Spicy – with dishes from Thailand, Malaysia, Goa, India and Morocco.
Using the very best of ingredients we have created a menu for the evening that has gentle mild dishes to tantalise the taste buds through to spicy hot dishes to challenge the serious curry connoisseur.
All of The Countryman curries are served with naan, chapatti or pitta and all the accompaniments. You don’t need to visit the far east to experience their flavours, just book a table in our cosy West Sussex, Country Pub.
The cost of the evening is just £10 for the buffet and you can make your own ‘Thani’ with a little bit of each or just enjoy your favourite from the buffet, the choice is yours!

Starting from Tuesday 1st of February, The Countryman Inn will be holding a Special Curry night every Tuesday in February. We have spent the last few weeks tasting and testing a variety of curry recipes and have created a fantastic selection for our first Curry extravaganza of 2011.
These nights will offer our visitors a fantastic selection of curries to try and will be sampling a different selection each week with tastes from India, Thailand, Malaysia and China.

On offer at the Countryman Shipley will be a Butternut Squash and Chickpea Curry, a Goan Monk-fish Curry, Thai Green Curry, Lamb Rogan Josh and a Malaysia Beef Rendang. All of which are priced at just £10 including fragrant rice, puppodoms, chapati and home-made naan bread.
Also available at The Countryman Pub and priced at only £5 is our Vietnamese Spicy Chicken Salad; shredded chicken served with a mix of fresh coriander, mint and lime. Finish with sliced red chillies and crushed peanuts.

Countryman Inn Poachers Bar New Year's Eve Fancy Dress
Happy New Year to all our customers! We hope you enjoyed the festive season.
We had fantastic fun here at your favourite country pub and restaurant, The Countryman Inn.
On New Year’s eve, we held a fantastic bumper event where both sittings were completely booked out. We boogied to 70’s and 80’s music provided by the excellent band, Freedom. In the Poachers Bar, we held a separate New Year fancy dress party (photo above) celebrating country pursuits throughout the ages and enjoyed a wonderful buffet. If you missed out this year, don’t worry, there is always next year, but hurry, you need to get in quick – even though there are 355 days left, tickets are already selling like hot cakes!
We have more fun, just around the corner. Of course, it’s our famous Burns Night celebration on 25th January 2011. Enjoy a full Scottish menu, Highland Piper and music by the Falloons … OK, we know Papa Falloon is Irish, but he is brilliant and the floors will be shaking with foot tapping and dancing. More about Mid Summers Day, courtesy of Mysterious England: The festival is primarily a Celtic fire festival, representing the middle of summer, and the shortening of the days on their gradual march to winter. Midsummer is traditionally celebrated on either the 23rd or 24th of June, although the longest day actually falls on the 21st of June. The importance of the day to our ancestors can be traced back many thousands of years, and many stone circles and other ancient monuments are aligned to the sunrise on Midsummer’s Day. Probably the most famous alignment is that at Stonehenge, where the sun rises over the heel stone, framed by the giant trilithons on Midsummer morning.
